TalkleafTalkleaf is an iPhone app for recording conversations and revisiting them as text. This policy explains how the app, this website and support handle information.
1. Scope and operator
This policy applies to Talkleaf, its official website and support. The operator is the Talkleaf developer, identified on GitHub as yutabee.
2. Information used in the app
Talkleaf stores audio you record, transcripts, your text edits, summaries and recording details such as date, duration and language on your iPhone. These are used to record, play, transcribe, summarize, search, edit, copy and export your recordings. Temporary data may also be stored to recover recordings or resume processing.
Transcription uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition. Summaries use an on-device Apple Intelligence model. Talkleaf does not send audio or text to the developer’s servers for these processes. The developer does not store your recordings on a server or collect them for model training.
There is no Talkleaf account registration, advertising SDK, custom analytics SDK or tracking across other companies’ apps or websites. The app does not provide its own cloud synchronization.
3. Permissions and Apple services
Talkleaf requests microphone access to record audio. You can revoke access in your iPhone settings. This prevents new recordings but does not, by itself, delete saved recordings.
Apple features may require an internet connection to download language data or models. App Store, TestFlight and system diagnostics follow Apple’s services and your settings. Crash reports or test feedback made available to the developer through your settings or submission are used to investigate issues and improve the app. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
5. Retention and deletion
Saved recordings remain on your device until you delete them. Swipe left on a recording in the list, choose Delete and confirm deletion of its audio, transcript and summary. The app has no undo for deleted recordings.
Using iOS “Delete App” removes the app and its data on that device. “Offload App” keeps the data. Exported files, shared copies and content in device backups are separate; manage or delete them at their respective destinations.
The developer cannot remotely access, restore or delete recordings stored on your device. Support records controlled by the developer are retained only as needed to respond and resolve issues, and deleted when no longer needed, except where retention is required for legal obligations or disputes. Retention and deletion on X follow its policies and features. Deletion by the developer does not necessarily remove copies held by X or other users.
6. Website and support information
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. It does not use its own advertising, analytics, tracking cookies or external fonts. The demo displays prepared samples in your browser; it does not access your microphone or upload audio.
GitHub logs and stores visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes. This is separate from the app’s recording processing. See GitHub Pages data collection and the GitHub Privacy Statement.
When you contact us on X, the developer receives your account name, public profile, message and optional attachments. This information is used to respond, investigate issues and fulfill requests, not to send advertising or sell information. Do not send recordings, transcripts or other people’s personal information. Include only a general description of the issue in public posts.
After you follow the link to X, its handling of information is governed by X’s Privacy Policy. This website does not embed X content. An X account is used for contacting support, but is not required to use the Talkleaf app.

To ask about, correct or request deletion of information received through support, contact the account below. We may request verification limited to what is needed to handle your request.

8. Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its revision date when functionality or information handling changes. Material changes will be communicated through the app or official website as appropriate.
